Armenian Ambassador met Algerian Foreign Minister

On October 11, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Armen Melkonian (residence in Cairo) presented the copies of his credentials to Ramtane Lamamra, Foreign Minister of People’s Democatic Republic of Algeria.

During the tête-à-tête that followed the formal ceremony the Algerian Foreign Minister and the Armenian Ambassador discussed the ways of strengthening the bilateral relations in different domains between Algeria and Armenia, the necessity of forming legal and contractual field, as well as the possibilities of reciprocal support in frames of international organizations.

A.Melkonian brought to the attention of the Minister the priorities of the Armenian foreign policy; spoke about the traditionally friendly relations between the Armenian and Arab peoples.

The interlocutors exchanged views on regional issues, particularly the worrisome situation in the Middle East.

Ambassador Melkonian addressed the latest developments around Nagorno Karabakh conflict. He spoke about the efforts undertaken by Armenia and Minsk Group Co-Chairs, revealing Baku’s destructive stance on the issue and condemning its continuous and gross violations of ceasefire and bombardment of peaceful settlements.
