Ambassador Melkonian presented his credentials to the President of Ethiopia

On April 1, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia H.E. Dr. Armen Melkonyan (residence-Cairo) presented his credentials to Ethiopian President H.E. Mr. Girma Wolde-Giorgis in Addis Ababa.

After the solemn ceremony Melkonyan had a meeting with the President of Ethiopia, H.E. Mr. Girma Volde-Giorgis. The Ethiopian President noted the spiritual and cultural similarities between two people serve as an important basis for expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in different spheres. The parties also highlighted the importance of the essential role the Armenian community has had for centuries in the public and cultural life of Ethiopia. The officials also exchanged views on international and regional issues.

H.E. Mr. Girma Wolde-Giorgis conveyed his warm greetings and wishes to the president of Armenia H.E. Mr. Serge Sargsyan, as well as his willingness to further deepen the existing friendly ties with Armenia.

Ambassador Melkonyan also discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation with Ethiopia's Foreign Minister, as well as Culture, Tourism, Finance and Economic Development Ministers. Later, the Ambassador met with representatives of the Armenian community in Ethiopia
