Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia receives Egyptian Deputy Minister of Culture

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister, Co-Chair of the Armenian party of Armenian-Egyptian Intergovernmental Commission Armen Gevorgyan received today a delegation, headed by Egyptian Deputy Minister of Culture Hossam Saad Zaghloul Nassar. The delegation is in Armenia November 4-11 on the occasion of the Egyptian Cultural Days in Armenia.

Deputy Minister said Armenia is interested in expansion of relations with the friend people of Egypt, expressing gratification that a bilateral cooperation is extended in all directions – political, economic, educational and cultural. Welcoming conduction of Cultural Days in Armenia, he noted that during these the culture-loving society has an opportunity to get acquainted with all the branches of the Egyptian art. The Deputy Prime Minister attached importance to implementation of mutual cultural programs and events between the two peoples from the viewpoint of enhancement of mutual comprehension.

Egyptian Deputy Minister of Culture noted that high importance is attached to expansion of cultural ties with Armenia, and Armenia has a special status in the foreign cultural strategy of Egypt. He noted that last year's Armenian Cultural Days in Egypt enjoyed popularity. According to the Deputy Minister, people in Egypt know that they are presented in a country with ancient culture and civilization, and tried to show the best they have. He also pointed out the role and contribution of the Armenian community to development of culture in Egypt.

To mention, Egyptian Cultural Days are conducted in Armenia November 4-11 within the framework of an intergovernmental agreement signed between Armenia and Egypt, and Armenian Cultural Days were organized in Egypt in September, 2010.
